I disabled antivirus, disabled windows firewall, ran as administrator, and vista 64 bit won’t install office 2010 32 or 64 bit either. I also previously ran a kb update from microsoft for resetting registry entries that prevented installation. I still get error 1935 with no “retry” button – ever. I’ve wasted days on this.

I have searched for a solution to this problem also… for some reason, I omitted yours when I googled the problem (you did say yours was a 64-bit. My error cost me 2 days. The solution that I needed was the first one – running as administrator. Why Microsoft did not specify this I don’t know. Sigh! The more things change…
